This comprehensive package of support will provide mathematics subject leaders with the tools and guidance they need to lead the development of mathematics during the next academic year. In the first session, subject leaders will be supported in evaluating their current position and creating and action plan for the year ahead. They will be provided with key updates and up to date research to enable them to prioritise and focus on the areas that are going to have maximum impact back in school.
Throughout the year, subject leaders will be supported in evaluating their progress towards key priorities and will be given training to implement back in school. They will have the opportunity and support to complete a scrutiny of work and moderation alongside other subject leaders, identifying next steps to work on with the teachers in their school. The final session in July 2024 will provide opportunity to evaluate the impact of their work in school and to plan for the next academic year.
Each session will respond to ongoing national priorities, current initiatives and areas to develop highlighted by the schools in the programme. Leaders will be asked to bring a range of books to each session and will be supported in looking at the impact of their actions in school and identifying next steps.
