This package of three half day sessions will ensure that Year 2 teachers feel confident in their teaching and assessment of Year 2 mathematics. The sessions will provide updates on the latest developments and national guidance as well as providing creative ways of developing and delivering an exciting Year 2 curriculum.

Teachers will be working alongside Year 2 colleagues from other schools across the three sessions, giving them the opportunity to share best practice and to moderate their end-of-unit judgements together.

Session 1

Moderation of Place Value taught to date and guidance on how to teach Place Value, Addition and Subtraction effectively.

Moderation of Addition & Subtraction taught to date and guidance on how to teach Money and Multiplication & Division effectively.

“I’ve really enjoyed teaching maths using the First4Maths EYFS package. The videos are really useful to go back to and remind yourself how to introduce new concepts and they give a wide range of differentiated ideas. Each term you are building on what has gone before revisiting the previous learning and making the next focused step. Another nice thing is the monthly Zoom for any queries that you might have. There is always advice on hand and the chance to discuss things with colleagues.”
